Communication & Outreach

Science is a tool we can use to connect ourselves to nature and to find solutions to critical societal issues such as climate change. But only when it is shared. Below are some examples of how I am working to do this.

Footprints Running Camp

As a mentor at Footprints Running Camp I have had the good fortune to share my science with other runners who are passionate about making a difference for the environment.

Athlete Climate Academy

I got to chat with Kilian Jornet about soil C storage and what outdoors people can do to help protect it for an episode of his Athlete Climate Academy!

Sky School

During my PhD I was an instructor at the University of Arizona’s Sky School where I worked with K-12 students to develop immersive inquiry-based science projects in the mountains and desert around Tucson, AZ. I had to move on when I graduated but the program continues to do fantastic work!
